GENERAL
Responsibilities

1. Draws
samples of products for shift analysis
2. Read
temperature and pressure indications and flow meters, records readings, and
compiles operating records. Monitors condition of unit and troubleshoots
when parameters are found to be out of normal operating range.
3. Maintains
log of gauge readings and shift production using either paper or electronic
logs (iProcess)
4. Inspects
fire extinguishers, respiratory protections equipment, and safety showers.
5. Performs
chemical tests on product sample to ensure conformance with specifications,
using standard test equipment, materials, and procedure.
6. Inspects
equipment in unit to determine location and nature of malfunction, such as
leaks, breakage, and faulty valves. Complete electronic work orders (SAP)
for maintenance repairs.
7. Prepares
equipment for maintenance by following Lock out Tag out procedures
8. Follow all
Life Critical procedures and ensure paperwork is completed correctly.
9. Turns
valves or moves controls to maintain system at specified parameters.
10. Connects with loading rack
to line up for storage.
11. Starts an acid and water
pump as needed
12. Reports concerns or any
issues to supervisor in a timely manner
13. Ensure rounds are completed
as required and documented in logs
14. Ensure SOPs / COPs / EOPs
and good operating practices accurate and followed.
15. Reviews all management of
changes, accident/incident reports, shift log and operating instructions (both
unit and Treatment Services) prior to the start of shift
16. Ensure appropriate
troubleshooting or effort is made and results/status is communicated to fellow
employees and supervisors.
17. Follow interlock/alarm
bypass procedure and ensure interlock bypasses are removed when no longer
needed.
18. Complete the necessary
training and qualifications in the unit on timetable specified by supervisor.
19. Be accountable for the
health and safety of not only yourself, but the unit operators and all fellow
plant personnel.
20. Patrols unit to verify safe
and efficient operating conditions
21. Performs turnaround duties
as requested by Area Supervisor.
22. Communicate with other
Units, Aroma Performance personnel, and Supervision regarding steam, water, or
natural gas production and shutdowns.
23. Utilizes Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE) in specific plant location or per job task
specification.
24. Performs autonomous
maintenance jobs per the Labor Contract.
25. Responsible for pulling,
blowing, installing sonicore guns to the furnace
(this includes locking out
for repairs).
26. (Once Qualified as a 1st
class ) Covers vacations, STD s, and absences for other 1st class operators as
required by Supervision.
27. Attend quarterly and all
other mandatory safety meetings.
28. Follow the Incident
reporting process.
29. Work with contractors and
engineers in the unit; be involved in the projects, HAZOPS, Audits, (etc.) as
needed.
30. Housekeeping Ensure the
unit is clean and well maintained to ensure a safe and efficient work area
31. Complete CBTs on time.
32. Work with Manager and Unit
Engineers to improve unit operations (efficiency, safety, costs, throughput).
33. Works with all employees
and contractors professionally and respectfully at all times.
34. Perform any other
duties/projects as assigned by supervision.

HEALTH, SAFETY, AND ENVIRONMENTAL Responsibilities

1. Follow all
company rules, policies and procedures.
2. Inspects
and monitors environmental, gas leaks and housekeeping within the unit.
3. Attends
required safety meetings to address safety and environmental concerns and
incidents as well as current safety performance in unit. Participate by
bringing forth current safety issues.
4. Invokes
Stop Work policy any time operational conditions become unsafe/uncertain
5. Completes
computer-based training to comply with HSE requirements and policies.
6.
Participates on Safety, Rescue, and other committees/teams as required.
7. Notifies
supervisor of all unsafe conditions/actions or procedure discrepancies.
8. Reviews
all management of changes, accident/incident reports, shift log and operating
instructions prior to the start of shift.
9. Completes
work permits as required.
10. Performs equipment
inspection for leaks, breakage, and malfunction within the unit.

work without direct supervision after hours.

Minium Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Greater:
High school diploma, or
GED
AND
Experience:
Process Technology Degree, or
Military Experience and in good standing, or
4 yr degree from a certified institution or
(2 yrs) Chemical Manufacturing Experience (defined as process of transforming raw materials into finished product - operator), or
(3 yrs) Industrial Experience (Insulation, scaffolding, pipe fitting, millwright, welding)

AND Critical Skills/Competencies:
Basic computer skills, and
Good communication skills, and
Willing to serve on the Emergency Response Team for minimum of the first 5 years
