Stantec is currently seeking Interns to provide technical support on a variety of projects. These positions will be part of Stantec's Environmental Services team that provides the full range of expertise needed to address a variety of regulatory, ecological, engineering and environmental planning issues.

Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking an intern to support our team of environmental professionals in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. As an intern you can expect to carry out a variety of different tasks related to ecological restoration implementation, water resources management, environmental investigation, compliance, and remediation.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake as needed field work including construction observation, water, soil, and air sampling, natural areas assessment and other field reconnaissance.

  • Assist in conducting field surveys (wetland delineations, archeological and cultural surveys, mitigation and compliance monitoring and reporting)

  • Assisting technical staff with various project tasks including researching, compiling and evaluating project data, and preparing technical reports.

  • Assist in compiling and managing field data to be used in project work.

  • Assist in proposal and/or report preparations, may perform calculations; gather, review or report information; and/or prepare standard document sections.

  • Assist with office administration tasks for field staff

  • Follow established safety standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure safety of yourself while completing assignments.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Highly motivated and dependable

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction.

  • Willingness to learn new skills while undertaking work assignments.

  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (AutoCAD experience a plus).

  • Must have good organizational skills, be reliable, detail orientated and capable of working independently on assigned tasks.

  • Strong technical writing, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Ability to travel regionally and locally as required for project needs.

  • Must have a safe driving record and valid driver's license.

Education and Experience

  • In progress towards a Bachelors Degree for Environmental Science or related discipline.
