Job Summary

The Area Sales Director will be responsible for implementing and overseeing the commercial strategy to secure distribution, assembly, and service opportunities for all locations within their defined area. This includes ensuring accountability to the vision, sales direction, and commercial planning for both New and Service locations, along with the respective Account Managers. The Regional Sales Manager will work in collaboration with the Branch Managers to align commercial strategy and planning with operational priorities and efficiency to maximize customer service and profits, in accordance with company policies, practices, and procedures.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement and oversee the commercial strategy for each location within their area, in collaboration with the Regional Commercial Director and Branch Managers, including achievement of commercial plans and KPIs for each Account Manager, aligned with overall sales strategy and business goals.
  • Translate sales strategies into detailed plans, aligned with product, marketing, and channel capabilities, to achieve growth objectives and commercial plans for their locations and Account Managers, with a focus on both NEW and SERVICE business.
  • Utilize data platforms to manage and monitor business activity, including call reports, quotation logs, order intake reports, product margin reports, ValvKeep & VUPoint, and Intelex.
  • Assign account management responsibilities based on data analysis, coverage feasibility, and targeted growth accounts.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, accountability, and sales support to Account Managers to ensure achievement of commercial plans and high customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure Account Managers meet sales targets for new and service sectors, and accurately forecast future sales growth.
  • Engage actively within the area as a sales expert, providing market, operational, and customer insights.
  • Collaborate with various departments (Operations, Quality, Safety, etc.) to achieve sales goals and strategies.
  • Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity, providing feedback to the organization.
  • Create and develop a high-performance sales team through talent attraction, assessment, performance management, and training.
  • Report on business performance to senior management and perform other duties as required.

  • Proficient in PC and analytical tools.
  • Performance-driven and data-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (PowerPoint, Google Slides).
  • Ability to focus on the big picture while managing details.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of sales management experience.
  • Strong strategic and sales planning skills.
  • Experience in employee training, development, and performance management.
  • Customer-oriented approach.
  • Expertise in sales business development and project management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the company territory, up to 50% overnight travel.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Clear background check and drug screening.

Physical Functions

  • Bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
