Process Sustainability Engineer

Job Summary:
Provide Subject Matter Expertise and focus in the area of environmental sustainability; specifically, in the field of renewables. Lead and develop engineering expertise with a focus on Carbon Capture and Sequestration, Blue and Green Hydrogen production and Blue and Green Ammonia. Ability to make decisions independently. Applies advanced techniques and methods as required. Suggest, justifies and implements improvements and creative solutions for problems. Successful candidate will energetically promote and expand CDIs capabilities in the key practice of Environmental Sustainability.

Job Responsibilities:

• Can develop conceptual engineering design packages.
• Independently performs most assignments. Work requires comprehensive knowledge in area of expertise. Generally, plans work and meets deadlines without supervisor action.
• Analytical skills for troubleshooting designs.
• Ingenuity for using the broad concepts of chemical engineering and applying them to address specific problems.
• Interpersonal skills in developing positive working relationships with other employees working with the overall project execution process.
• Serves as the lead Engineer or technical expert on projects defined as sustainability project.
• Coordinates work with other engineers and engineering disciplines.
• Perform design and sizing calculations for simpler equipment types under general supervision.
• Develops, plans, and recommends solutions for problems.
• Review project scoping documents, including design basis and deliverable registry.
• Coordinate discipline design specific technical training and development, including mentoring and technical support.
• Demonstrates a continuing consciousness of safety in daily activities and implemented in work designed.
• Attend approved conferences.
• Develop white papers for presentation at industrial conferences.
• Ability to make clear technical and business presentations to clients.

Job Qualifications:

• BS in Chemical Engineering (or higher) from ABET accredited institution.
• Preferred: PHD in Chemical Engineering; NCEES record; PE license in Louisiana.
• Ability to obtain PE license in Louisiana within 12 months.
• Background in renewable processes or related processes.
• ProII, Promax, HYSIS, HTRI.
