Clean Harbors is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA. In this role, you will operate a variety of heavy equipment and assist in unloading waste from incoming vehicles. The position offers a Monday-Friday schedule with 40+ hours of work each week.

• Prioritize health and safety by adhering to policies, procedures, and maintaining safe practices;
• Complete daily checklists to ensure proper equipment operation;
• Gain hands-on experience operating Decanter centrifuges, belt presses, filter presses, and ancillary equipment (pumps, conveyors, etc.);
• Operate special equipment such as centrifugal and positive displacement pumps;
• Utilize 5K hotsy pressure washers;
• Ensure units are operated safely and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures;
• Complete and submit all required paperwork for waste tracking;
• Secure all containers appropriately, using chock blocks and jack stands;
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Specific vocational preparation including safety training, on-the-job training, and relevant experience;
• Ability to understand English for safety training and emergency instructions;
• Valid driver's license in accordance with the company's driving policy required for driving company or personal vehicles for business purposes;
• Knowledge of emergency equipment operation, including fire extinguishers;
• Possession of a Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) may be required.

What It Takes to Work with Us:

• At least 6 months of equipment operating experience preferred;
• Experience with excavators and/or haul trucks is an advantage;
• Able to work effectively in a team environment;
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
