Southeast Louisiana Legal Services (SLLS) is a non-profit law firm serving the 22 parishes east of the Atchafalaya basin. We provide free civil legal aid to low-income households. SLLS has received national and local awards for its outstanding work.

SLLS is currently looking to fill:

INTAKE SPECIALIST, General Law Unit, Baton Rouge

Duties will include client eligibility screening and intake by telephone, scheduled in-person appointments, walk-ins, and online for general law clients.

This position is under the direct supervision of the Baton Rouge Directing Attorney.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School graduate.
Two years of experience in the legal field or public education experience in the community. (Coursework in related fields beyond high school can be substituted for experience.)

This position is classified under Staff & Admin. I (SLLS 2024 Salary Scale). It is a full-time position (37.5 hours a week) with a salary range of $32,625 – $49,625, depending on experience. For instance, a 2-3 year experience is $34,325, and 15 years is $45,375, which is the maximum starting salary.

Additional compensation for bilingualism, a commissioned notary, a paralegal certificate, and a college degree (Associate and Bachelor's).
