SUMMARY:
SNF Flopam, a subsidiary of SNF Holding Company is currently seeking two (2)Production Engineers (1 Mechanical and 1 Chemical)for its Powders Plant. SNF Flopam is a new, state of the art facility located in Plaquemine, Louisiana. These roles report to the Technical Managerand provide technical leadership to their assigned units. These positions are responsible for all technical aspects of assigned Powders production linesand associated equipment. This includes continual improvement in all key performance indicators. These positions will work closely with the other plant Productions Engineers, Plant Supervisors, Shift Supervisors and staff from the Maintenance and Engineering departments. Success in this role could likely lead to an Operations leadership career track.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and monitor daily production and quality metrics as well as operation log books to insure optimal unit operation and accurate reporting
Continually optimize production operations to maximize the Efficiency, On-Stream-Time, and Utilizationof the manufacturing equipment
Lead safety training, conduct behavior based safety audits, and provide a strong safety presence in the unit
Develop and review standard operating procedures to meet ISO9001 and PSM requirements
Minimize/eliminate out of specification production by ensuring equipment is maintained in the condition that is required
Conduct thorough/appropriate non-conforming product and customer complaint investigations necessary to identify root causes and effective corrective/preventive action to continuously reduce the amount of off-spec production and customer complaints
Investigate/identify causes of waste generation in order to minimize the amount of waste generated
Apply troubleshooting/problem solving techniques and resources, as required, to quickly respond to many varieties of operational issues
Collaborate with internal and external customers to minimize production impact
Identify, communicate, and eliminate production bottlenecks with Engineering/Maintenance in order to continually maximize production capacities
Train the salaried and hourly staff, as appropriate, on technical matters

Leadership experience in Chemical Plant Operations
Experience in managing and monitoring key performance indicators - KPI, Pareto, etc
Demonstrated ability to make timely decisions
Knowledge of 5S, TPM, and otherLean tools
Knowledge of PSM, environmental and other regulatory requirements
Knowledge of root cause analysis methods
Plant commissioning
REQUIREMENTS:
BS degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
3-5 years relevant process engineering and/or operations experience
Comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative Operations department
