Oversee the Capital Project program for the university including administering contracts with designers and contractors, support in preparing the annual Capital Outlay request and supervising project managers within the Capital Project Management and Development group.
Job Duties:
Capital Project Management - Administers the University's capital project program using outside designers for the university including supervisory responsibility of the professional capital project management staff. Responsibility for coordinating the design phase review, bidding, contracting and construction efforts for all projects over $1Million involving outside consultants for LSU. Serves as primary liaison between LSU and State Office of Facility Planning & Control (FPC) for all capital outlay projects. Responsible for monitoring overall capital outlay project budgets and schedules. Keeps PDC Executive Director informed of all issues and current status of capital outlay projects. -55%
Construction Project Management and Design Review - Performs project management and oversees the plan review process for projects within the Capital Project Management group, as well as for other projects not being managed by this group, to ensure that project developments meet University design standards & guidelines. Responsible for staff training and development. -20%
Capital Project Planning - Collaborate with AVP/University Architect and PDC Executive Director to prepare the annual Capital Outlay Request for LSU and general capital planning for future capital projects and assist in deferred maintenance needs prioritization, including supporting the master planning and strategic capital planning efforts for future capital developments. Responsible for completion of Selection Board request package development, ensures that all required approvals are executed properly and efficiently and monitors deadlines crucial to ensuring capital projects are advanced in a timely manner. Coordinates and collaborates with the Director of Capital Renewal and Director of Campus Planning to ensure the outcome of all project developments are within the context of long term campus plans and university design standards and guidelines. -15%
Policy Development - Collaborate with the PDC Executive Director in policy development for the overall PDC department relative to policies and procedures applicable to project management and processing for the overall department. Other duties as assigned. -10%

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture with 7 years of related experience in project management.
