Dean of StudentsJob no : 495024Closes : [Insert closing date]Work Type : Staff Full-TimeLocations : Baton Rouge, LACategories : Student Affairs, EducationCollege : BRCCDepartment : Academic & Student AffairsSub department : Student Success CenterType of Appointment : Unclassified - Administrative / StaffDuties and Responsibilities : Provides assistance to students with concerns or questions; acts as a point of contact for issues related to harassment, discrimination, and sexual misconduct, reporting cases to the Campus Title IX Coordinator.Collaborates with campus staff and faculty to address student behavioral issues; refers students to counselors; serves as liaison between students, administration, and faculty regarding grievances.Oversees administrative and reporting software (Maxient), collects data, and provides reports to the AVCSD.Supervises and evaluates staff including the Associate Dean of Students, Director and Assistant Director of Student Life, and support staff.Enforces the student code of conduct, documents conduct reports, investigations, disciplinary issues, and renders decisions on student appeals.Stays updated on legislation affecting students and ensures policies are compliant; collaborates on policy development.Produces campus publications such as the Student Handbook and contributes to the academic calendar and college catalog.Coordinates commencement, awards, and student events; collaborates on orientation programs.Serves on college and system committees; acts as a liaison at various meetings.Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications : Education : Master's degree in Education Administration, Student Affairs, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or related fields.Experience : At least 3 years in educational administration or related field.Preferred Qualifications : Education : PhD in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related field.Experience : Title IX training, conflict management, and mediation experience.Additional Information : Benefits : BRCC offers a comprehensive benefits package including retirement, health insurance, dental, life, disability, and vision insurances, flexible spending plans, holidays, generous leave, and employee assistance programs.
