About this Job

Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) seeks to fill the position of Laborer in the Facilities Department. The Laborer performs a variety of manual labor tasks to support the maintenance, repair, and operation of BRCC facilities and grounds. This role ensures a clean, safe, and functional environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This is a full-time position.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

• Perform general custodial, maintenance, and groundskeeping duties, including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.

• Assist with moving, assembling, and setting up furniture, equipment, and event materials.

• Perform minor repairs to facilities and equipment as directed.

• Assist skilled trades personnel with maintenance and repair projects.

• Maintain campus grounds by mowing, trimming, watering, planting, and removing debris.

• Load, unload, and transport supplies, tools, and equipment.

• Follow safety guidelines and report hazards or unsafe conditions promptly.

• Operate basic hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.

• Support special events by assisting with setup, breakdown, and cleanup.
