Engineering Intern

AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern to be based in our Baton Rouge, LA office. This position is expected to begin May/June 2026.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides support to the roadway, structures and traffic engineering group on highway design and other types of transportation projects.
  • The intern will work under the direction of engineers to support design staff on preparation of drawings and engineering reports and the performance of engineering calculations, quantity calculations and cost estimates.
  • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
  • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study
  • Intern 3 completion of three years of qualified study

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidate must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree and plan to continue with the Master's degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Must have completed three years of study in the applicable program

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS).
