We are seeking a CAD Draftsman to join our Engineering Team in Louisiana!

The Draftsman would be responsible for producing accurate, 2D manufacturing prints from scaled 2D functional design layouts. The Draftsman would also create the entire 3D seal assembly, utilizing the drafted component parts. Throughout this process, the Draftsman must pay high attention to detail to guarantee successful fitment, assembly and sealing of each design. Successful candidates would work closely with our Engineering Design and CNC Programming Teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for receiving, evaluating, disassembly/reassembly, cleaning and repairing mechanical seals and/or seal parts
  • The initial process includes receiving the products, ensuring all documentation has been supplied (e.g., SDS), documenting and identifying the seal parts, and evaluating their repair needs
  • Being comfortable with customer communication is a plus
  • Works closely with the Applications and Design Engineering team on reviewing repair needs and having design prints and parts created
  • Regularly perform the disassembly, proper cleaning of all components, with use of manual lathes, grinders, and hand tools
  • Work closely and professionally with internal team members to find solutions and resolve matters promptly by providing all recipients with up to date and comprehensive data
  • Perform other general duties as assigned
  • Previous experience with mechanical seals is preferred

Required:

  • Candidates must be able to work quickly on multiple tasks with minimal errors to ensure product assemblies meet our quality standards.
  • Experience in Mechanical Drafting/Design, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD (2D), and Autodesk Inventor (3D) is preferred.
  • Assembling new and repairable mechanical seals.
  • Has a desire to be cross-trained
  • We are willing to train and develop a motivated individual in this role without experience.
