LSUs Oncology Department provides chemotherapy, external radiation and injectable radiation to treat veterinary cancer patients. We work in conjunction with all other services in the VTH (anesthesia, internal medicine, cardiology, ophthalmology, dermatology, radiology, surgery, BZEM, large animal and emergency). The oncology service is vital in the clinical training of 4th year clinical veterinary students. The oncology service also provides sedation and general anesthesia for oncology patients for routine treatments, imaging, minor biopsies and bone marrow aspirates. Associate Clinical Specialist 130% Assist with all aspects of providing chemotherapy. Tasks include insertion and maintenance of clean stick catheters, administration of IV, SQ, IM injections, monitoring of patient vital signs, obtaining blood pressures, blood, and urine.
