Maintenance Foreman
Elayn Hunt Correctional Center is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Foreman to lead daily facility operations and ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our physical plant. This role is essential to maintaining a secure environment and supporting the center's mission through strong technical expertise and effective team leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience: Four years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus two years of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses plus two years of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance.
Job Duties and Other Information:
- Perform skilled maintenance and preventive maintenance on all facility doors, door closers, hinges, panic devices, locking mechanisms, and related hardware. Complete all necessary preparation and installation work for new lock systems.
- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive master keying systems to support secure, efficient access control throughout Elayn Hunt Correctional Center.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for outside vendors and contractors on specialized locksmithing, security hardware, and access-control projects. Coordinate closely with maintenance and security personnel to ensure proper building access and compliance with institutional requirements.
- Cut, duplicate, rekey, and issue keys in accordance with established key-control procedures. Work with a variety of key and lock types, including Folger Adams, Medeco, bi-axial, and paracentric systems.
- Respond promptly to work orders, service calls, and emergency lockouts, ensuring timely resolution of security-sensitive maintenance needs.

- Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
- An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
